Winning Women on Their Way
Susan Burgess, vice president, corporate compliance, and chief privacy officer for Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in Glen Allen, Va., was one of five winners of this year's Wyndham's Women on their Way Award, the hospitality industry's first program dedicated to the female business traveler. Her winning advice on conquering life's challenges and enjoying its wonderful moments, personally and professionally: “Know who you are and then be yourself. Go with your instincts, but be open to those around you. Build consensus but do not allow consensus to rule your style. Step out there and make the big decisions and stick by them.” Among the spoils for this year's winner: a Wyndham vacation for two; a $1,200 wardrobe; and 25,000 American Airlines AAdvantage miles.
