ASAE Plans Study Trips for Medical Associations

For the first time, the American Society of Association Executives & The Center for Association Leadership will host an international study mission specifically for executives and meeting professionals at medical associations.

The study mission, which will take place in April 2009, will head to Singapore and Dubai/Abu Dhabi. ASAE has done study missions the past two years to China and India for association professionals in general.

There will actually be two study missions to Singapore and Dubai; one for medical association professionals and one for all other association professionals. The reason for having a separate trip for medical associations is because they represent such a large part of the association world––about 25 percent, said John Graham, president and CEO at ASAE, at the recent ASAE annual meeting. The study trips can be attended by meeting planners looking at these destinations for international meetings or executives interested in the destinations to broaden their reach through partnerships or expansion.

The trips are tentatively set for April 19-29. Interested individuals can sign up for either one or both. For more information or to sign up, contact Anne Blouin, CAE, chief learning officer for CenterU at ASAE & The Center, at (202) 326-9546 or ablouin@asaecenter.org.
