ASAE Conference Looks at State of Technology in Associations

Tech-savvy association meeting planners--and those who would like to be--might find the latest technology strategies and solutions at the American Society for Association Executives 2008 Technology Conference and Expo, which runs January 31 to February 1.

The annual event, held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., features 50 educational sessions, two keynote speakers, and 100 exhibitors demonstrating products and services in the Technology Solutions Marketplace. “The Association Technology Conference and Expo is designed to help associations explore and upgrade their technology strategies and business intelligence, and check out the latest technology providers who can help support these strategies,” said Susan Sarfati, CAE, president and CEO of The Center for Association Leadership and executive vice president of ASAE, in a press release.

While the conference officially starts January 31, there will be an optional “town hall” meeting on January 30 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. called “The State of Technology in Associations.” Participants will use live voting technology to rank the top issues facing associations and take the “technology pulse” of the association community.

Keynote speakers include author Anthony Williams, who wrote Wikinomics: How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything; and Erica Driver, principal analyst at Forrester Research, who will unveil the seven tenets of the “Information Workplace.”
