Global Events Partners Acquires Atlanta Arrangements, Appoints GEP Utah CEO

Global Events Partners, a partnership of destination management companies, announced it has acquired Atlanta Arrangements Inc., a DMC that has been operating in Atlanta for 40 years. Atlanta Arrangements was previously an independently owned GEP partner.

Effective immediately, the company will operate under the name, Atlanta Arrangements, a GEP Company. President and CEO Susan Henderson, CMP, DMCP, and COO Michele Lend will retain their executive positions under the new ownership.

The acquisition makes Atlanta Arrangements the sixth DMC to be owned and operated by GEP. The company also owns and operates DMCs in Washington, D.C.; Baltimore; Philadelphia; South Florida; and Salt Lake City and Park City, Utah, and has partnerships with 65 independently owned DMCs around the world.

In other GEP news, the company has appointed Cynthia Mitchell as president and CEO of GEP Utah, based in Salt Lake City. Mitchell has more than 17 years of meeting planning experience in marketing, events, and promotions, and comes to GEP Utah from Agel Enterprises, a manufacturer of nutritional supplements, where she was senior director of global events and promotions.

In addition to its Salt Lake City office and its satellite office in Deer Valley-Park City, Utah, GEP Utah plans to open other offices in Moab, Utah; Sun Valley, Idaho; and Jackson Hole, Wyo.
