Maritz Travel Earns Data Security Certification
In an effort to assure customers that its business processes and data security are top shelf and comply with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations, Maritz Travel has completed the SAS70 Type II examination for its Strategic Meetings Management business.
Martiz worked with KPMG LLP, an independent accounting and audit firm, to complete the on-site audit, which looked into the company’s internal policies around protecting customer data, as well as data accuracy, report management, operational processes, and service level tracking. Maritz says it is the only incentive travel, meetings, and events company to complete the six-month SAS70 Type II examination to date.
“This achievement brings an entirely new level of confidence, security, and value to clients using our Strategic Meetings Management services,” says Chris Gaia, vice president of marketing for Maritz Travel. “Now clients can provide their auditors and financial management leadership with an internationally recognized standard for quality.”
SAS70 is a set of internationally recognized auditing standards developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is used by service auditors to assess the internal controls of a service organization.
