Alliance For CME Offers "Best Practices" Handbook On Accreditation
The first edition of Best Practices in CME Accreditation, a 550-page reference guide of examples of best practices demonstrated by CME providers, is now available from the Alliance For Continuing Medical Education. The handbook features examples of practices of accredited providers considered exemplary by the Accreditation Council for CME in areas that are fundamental to the delivery of successful CME.
Examples represent commendable practices from both the old Seven Essentials system and current accreditation systems. Each section identifies the areas of performance, the language describing the exemplary findings for performance, and then provides examples of the CME practices.
References in the areas of needs assessment, educational objectives, educational design, and other aspects of CME programs, as well as ACCME accreditation standards and policies, are provided in a resource section. Alliance members can purchase the book for $45.00 plus $8.00 for shipping and handling (U.S. locations only). The price to non-members is $60. To order, visit the Alliance website.
