Alliance For CME Seeks Board Nominations

The Alliance for Continuing Medical Education is seeking nominations for members to serve on its Board of Directors. These are individuals, selected by their peers by mail ballot, who are willing and able to contribute time and energy to the Alliance Board of Directors, the policy and direction-setting body of the organization. Seven members are required in the coming year; their term will begin at the Annual Conference, January 2003.

Members serve for a three-year term; they may be re-elected and serve no longer than six-years consecutively. They are expected to attend two yearly meetings and an annual strategic retreat, expenses paid by the Alliance for CME. They are also expected to be available for occasional Board conference calls.

Board members are selected in part on the basis of the geographic area they represent, the type of healthcare facility they are associated with (hospital, medical school, specialty society, etc.), length of membership and demonstration of leadership and service in the Alliance and in the field of continuing medical education. The Alliance also strives to balance physician and non-physician participation on the board.

Written nominations to the board must be received by July 15, 2002. To learn more about the nomination and application process, and to obtain a nominating form, click here to visit the Alliance for CME website or call the Alliance office at (205) 824-1355, fax (205) 824-1357, e-mail acme@acme-assn.org.acme@acme-assn.org
