AMA Fires Anderson
The American Medical Association Board of Trustees announced last week that it was terminating the contract of its Executive Vice President E. Ratcliffe Anderson, Jr., M.D., pursuant to the terms of his employment agreement.
Anderson had brought a lawsuit against the AMA for overruling his decision to fire legal counsel involved in the sale of some AMA real estate.
Robert W. Gilmore, M.D., will continue his current role and responsibilities as the Association’s deputy executive vice president; he is now the senior ranking staff executive. The AMA Board has announced that it will move quickly to launch a national search for an executive vice president.
