Internet Healthcare Coalition Washington D.C. Conference To Focus on International Issues
The Internet Healthcare Coalition's annual conference, to be held November 5-6 in Washington D.C., will focus on international efforts to establish trust and ensure privacy on Internet healthcare sites.
The conference has added a special roundtable on "War on Terrorism: Internet Healthcare Privacy and Security Issues" that will include experts discussing the implications on security, privacy and regulatory issues.
This fourth annual conference, co-located with the American Medical Informatics Association's annual symposium, will be held Monday and Tuesday, November 5-6, 2001 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C.
Attendees may register through the coalition's Web site. The registration fee is $175 for the public and $125 for Coalition and AMIA members.
Key presentations include: "Health Web Site Accreditation," by Guy D'Andrea of URAC; "AMA Principles for Health Web Sites," by Margaret Winkler, M.D. of the American Medical Association; "The European Community's MedCERTAIN Program," by Gunther Eysenbach, M.D. of Germany and "Improving Web Site Quality," by Mary Jo Deering of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Also speaking will be representatives of the French Ministry of Health, the Japan Internet Medical Association and the National Mental Health Association.
The Internet Healthcare Coalition, founded in 1997 and based in Washington D.C., is an international, non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to identifying and promoting quality healthcare resources on the Internet.
