New Continuing Education Plan from eMedicine Delivers CME For 7 Cents An Hour
eMedicine.com, Inc., producer of the eMedicine World Medical Reference, has announced a new way for medical institutions and organizations to deliver accredited Continuing Medical Education units to their staff at very low cost.
eMedicine now offers plans with a fixed number of hours, up to 7,500, or unlimited CME for hospital system employees and providers. The cost per staff member can be as low as $3.36 for individual, unlimited CME - 50 hours would cost less than 7 cents each. This new program is only available for subscribers to eMedicine's Institutional and Enterprise Editions.
Jonathan Adler, MD, FAAEM, President and Chief Medical Officer, stated that "eMedicine is already one of the most economical ways for a medical professional to have access to online continuing education - this new program takes this to the next level."
eMedicine's content is approved for Category 1 credit towards the AMA Physician's Recognition Award for physicians, the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation for nurses and the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education for pharmacists, all delivered through the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the Nebraska Pharmacists Association.
Currently, 30,000 hours of CME and CE are available.
eMedicine's new Institutional Subscription offering will be released in January 2002. This new Continuing Education program will be available at the same time.
The company is privately held, with offices in St. Petersburg, Florida, Omaha, Nebraska, Syracuse, New York, Boston, Massachusetts, St. Louis, Missouri and Washington, DC. Visit the site at www.emedicine.com
