A New Market, "Caregiving," Gets Its Own Convention

Market Makers, LLC, has announced the launch of the National Caregiving Conference and Tradeshow (NCCT) to be held December 9-11, 2002 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C. The event, featuring over 150 speakers and 100 exhibitors, will explore the business issues, impact, challenges and opportunities of the $200 billion caregiving industry.

Bill Novelli, Executive Director and CEO of the AARP will deliver a keynote speech addressing the landscape of the current caregiving and aging business marketplace and what the future holds.

Fueled by the aging of the 77 million members of the "baby boomer" generation, this market is projected to grow for the next thirty years or more. Every day in America, 10,000 people turn fifty years old. And, those fifty years of age and older control 75% of the nation's individual wealth ($29 trillion), providing a fertile market for any company whose products and services target them.

The conference is comprised of six program tracks including Financial Services, Insurance, Legal & Legislative, Employer Solutions, Home Health Care and Housing. A three-hour Venture Capital Forum will be held on Monday, December 9.

"This is the first event uniting key industries to explore the crosscutting challenges and opportunities the caregiving and aging markets present to the business community," said Neil Hoyt, president of Market Makers. "Never before have these industries convened to discuss their mutual interests in identifying, developing and bringing to market products and services for caregivers, those in need of care and those planning for long term care."
