People on the Move

Sue Ann Capizzi has joined the Woods Development Institute in Oak Park, Ill., as vice president, strategy and operations. WDI produces leadership and personal development seminars for physicians.

Prior to joining WDI, Capizzi was chief operating officer for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Deerfield, Ill. A CME veteran, Capizzi brings to WDI extensive experience in the areas of physician licensure and certification, program accreditation, and professional mentoring. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Alliance for Continuing Medical Education, and is a member of the National Task Force on CME Provider/Industry Collaboration. Capizzi has also chaired the American Board of Medical Specialties’ board staff committee. For more information on Capizzi’s work with WDI, watch for the March/April issue of Medical Meetings.

After serving as director of the division of continuing physician professional development for the American Medical Association, Chicago, since 1988, Dennis K. Wentz, MD, has retired. A gastroenterologist, Wentz had been active in CME since 1980, when he served as associate dean for clinical affairs at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Nashville; and director, medical services, for Vanderbilt University Hospital, with responsibility for both CME and graduate medical education. Wentz also served as president of the Society for Academic CME from 1987 to 1988, and was a member of the board of directors of the Alliance for CME for six years. He was also a founding member of the Global Alliance for Medical Education, and, since 1990, he has been co-chair of the National Task Force on CME Provider/Industry Collaboration.

Wentz plans to stay involved in CME. For details about his future plans, watch for the March/April issue of Medical Meetings.
