Palazzo Opens, Megacenter Debuts in Vegas
With the opening of The Palazzo resort later this month, with its 3,000 guest rooms and 14 restaurants, Las Vegas Sands Corp. will begin marketing its three major properties on the Strip as the Las Vegas Sands Megacenter.
In total, the Megacenter—which consists of The Palazzo, The Venetian, and the Sands Expo and Convention Center—will have 7,000 rooms and suites, 2.2 million square feet of meeting and exhibit space, 30 restaurants, and more than 60 retail shops. “The idea behind Las Vegas Sands Megacenter is to offer meeting planners the most compelling overall package,” stated Sheldon Adelson, chairman and chief executive officer of Las Vegas Sands Corp., in a news release. “With all the amenities housed within The Venetian and the soon-to-be-open Palazzo, meeting attendees will never have to leave the property, as everything needed for a great stay will be right outside their suite.”
The suites in the new Palazzo, as well as The Venetian, are nearly twice the size of the average Las Vegas hotel room, officials say—large enough to hold business meetings in the sunken living area. The 2.2 million square feet of exhibit space, most of which exists at the Sands and Venetian, give the complex more meeting space than many large cities.
