RSNA 2007 Draws Record Attendance
The Radiological Society of North America drew 62,501 attendees to its Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting held at McCormick Place in Chicago in November—a record for the association.
The RSNA annual meeting is said to be the world's largest international medical meeting, with more than 2,300 scientific paper and poster presentations, nearly 1,500 educational exhibits, and over 535,000 square feet of technical exhibit space. The meeting produced more than 100,000 room nights at 70 Chicago hotels and generated about $128 million in visitor spending for Chicago, where the meeting is held every year.
International participation contributed to the record numbers. Fueled in part by a favorable exchange rate on the dollar, international attendance increased 7 percent in 2007, totaling 8,792.
