Sanofi-aventis Layoffs Include Meetings Department
Among the 1,700 employees laid off from Sanofi-aventis pharmaceutical company in late November were those who work in the company’s meeting planning department, according to several reports from Medical Meetings’ sources. These sources also report that a third-party meeting management company has been named to manage some of the company’s meetings. A company spokesman said that 300 of the 1,700 positions that were eliminated were in the home office, with the remainder being field sales reps. He declined to provide any more specific details concerning the layoffs.
