VEI’s New Digital Certification Program Gets Scholarship Money
The Virtual Edge Institute’s Digital Event Strategist certification program, the new meetings industry credential launching this spring, has received $100,000 in support from bXb Online, a marketing agency specializing in hybrid and online event strategies.
The DES program is designed to help meeting professionals “effectively plan, produce, and measure the results of their digital engagement practices and to develop a management pool strategically equipped to engage audiences using digital technology,” according to VES. The financial support from bXb Online will be used to provide scholarships for professionals.
The costs of the certification program include a $175 application fee and a $375 exam fee. Candidates may also attend a 16-hour, online VEI study course, which costs $595. VEI will produce other training workshops at industry conferences throughout the year.
Registration for scholarship applications will be available on January 31, 2012. Interested professionals may e-mail desscholars@bxbonline.com.
