The Convention Industry Council launched the Certified Meeting Professional Ambassador program in September to increase participation and interest in the CMP certification program. So far, 16 ambassadors have been named, including CMPs from Canada, Austria, Monaco, and Australia. In return for their efforts, ambassadors receive points toward CMP recertification.

INCENTIVE MERGER

USMotivation, the Atlanta-based incentive company, has merged with Marquette Group. Marquette, based in Peoria, Ill., is a marketing representative for Yellow Pages and Internet advertising.

The Business Travel Coalition is offering an in-depth look into the capabilities and acceptance of the major Internet travel management companies, Expedia, Orbitz, and Travelocity. A 55-page study, released for sale in early October, confirms the Internet travel companies as serious players positioned for growth against traditional travel management companies.
