Charity Choice Gift Cards
Highlights
A new gift-card concept allows incentive winners to direct funds to the charity of their choice.CharityChoice gift cards came online late last year when Mark Finkel, a board member of a charity known as Special Kids Fund, wanted to make a memorial donation to honor the father of a business associate. Since the family hadn’t designated a charity, he searched the Web for a way to give a gift that allowed the recipient to designate the charity of his or her choice.
When he found it didn’t exist, he created it himself.
CharityChoice gift cards are available in denominations starting at $5 and can be personalized for corporate incentive or employee gifts. Recipients log onto the site and choose a charity from more than 100 organizations, including United Way, Save the Children, and Public Broadcasting Service, as well as many lesser-known ones.
Donations are passed along to the designated charity minus a five percent administrative fee, and a three percent credit card processing fee. Visit CharityChoice
