The Society for Molecular Imaging will hold its first annual meeting August 24-26, 2002, at the Marriott Long Wharf Hotel in Boston. The program will include 6 plenary sessions, simultaneous breakout sessions, 2 educational sessions, and two keynote addresses. Social events will include a cocktail reception upon arrival and a dinner cruise Sunday evening. A highlight of the meeting will be unique session on Industrial and Academic Research Collaborations. The goal of this session will be to provide a forum for industry representatives to highlight their interests and ongoing efforts in molecular imaging, and promote dialogue and the establishment of collaborations between academic and industrial researchers.
The Industrial and Academic Research Collaborations session will include a few invited oral presentations by industry with a panel discussion by the presenters, followed by a cocktail reception during which industrial participants will have the opportunity to present their scientific and technical interests in the area of molecular imaging in a poster or table format. The format is intended to enable physicians and researchers to discuss scientific interests and ongoing work with other participants, including academic and other industrial participants, and facilitate new collaborations.
