Stating that the company will "stand behind our fellow citizens in their time of need," Anaheim, Calif.-based GBS Linens announced a new donation program geared toward those impacted by the Sept. 11 attacks. GBS, a major distributor of event linens, said that for every employee, customer and customer employee who donates or has already donated blood, the company will give $10 (up to $5,000 maximum) to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
According to director of marketing Sujata Mody, the program was designed to provide a dual relief effort through contributions of both money and blood. She asked that customers notify her of blood donations by e-mailing their company name and the names of donors to sujata@gbslinens.com.
