DeVos Place convention center just keeps growing. Last December marked the opening of the one-million-square-foot facility (right), including three contiguous exhibit halls totaling 162,000 square feet. Neat feature: Power-connection boxes, usually only in exhibit hall floors, are in the lobby floor as well, making that area more functional. Meeting space on two levels is nearly complete; by January 2005 it will total 24,000 square feet in 21 flexible rooms. Also scheduled for completion in January: the renovation of the 2,400-seat Performance Hall; a new 40,000-square-foot flexible ballroom/theater; and an outdoor riverside promenade running the entire length of the convention center.
