MEET Opens in Las Vegas
Highlights
After three years of construction, MEET Las Vegas opened on March 16 in downtown Las Vegas.
Vegas' newest rage, MEET, has 30,000 square feet of
meeting space on three floors, as well as a multimedia training center, and can
accommodate groups of up to 2,000. There’s also a 2,775-square-foot outdoor
pavilion that can accommodate 475 for a reception.
The facility has some innovative features for branding events. One is its Illumivision Light Wave fixtures, which enable changes in color to the outside of the building. Lights inside the center also change colors and can be customized. The rigging infrastructure, which is built into the facility, “is unequaled in the event and exhibition industry,” said Dan Maddux, CEO of MEET Las Vegas.
“MEET is a meeting planner’s dream!” Maddux told the crowd at the grand opening. “We designed MEET to have virtually unlimited flexibility to cater to unlimited wants, needs, and desires.”
According to the Las Vegas Sun, Mayor Oscar Goodman, who joined Maddux at the ribbon-cutting, told the crowd that the Medical Tourism Association decided to hold its annual convention in Las Vegas this year instead of Los Angeles because of the new center.
MEET Las Vegas is located on the corner of 4th Street and Bridger Avenue, near the Golden Nugget and the Freemont Street Experience.
