The 2002 MeetingPowerXchange Conference, presented by Fusion Productions and scheduled for June 6-8 in Orlando has been cancelled. There is more that a little irony in the cancellation, inasmuch as the meeting was to focus on ROI—apparently, prospective attendees decided the investment couldn’t be justified this year.
"It certainly wasn’t that there was no interest," said Ed Simeone, executive producer for Fusion Productions. "We had a lot of inquiries, when it came to that interest translating into registrations, there just weren’t enough to justify holding the meeting."
Simeone said meeting officials were hoping for as many as 200 to 250 attendees, and that with as few as 90 registrants the meeting would have gone on as planned. However, as of the second week of May, only about 40 persons had registered. The meeting was cancelled shortly thereafter.
Simeone said the meeting will be rescheduled, but "probably not any time soon."
