ASAE to Tell Its Story
Leaders often talk about the need to tell their “story” to the marketplace. Well, the American Society of Association Executives is taking the idea a step further with a new program called, “The Power of Storytelling.”
Introduced at ASAE's annual meeting, the program invites ASAE members to tell the tales of their associations, its people, and the successes they've had. Consultant Seth Kahan, ASAE's keynote speaker, believes that storytelling workshops can enrich communities and organizations.
ASAE sees the program as an opportunity to begin a “new story” by celebrating the achievements of association executives in their organizations and communities, says John Graham, ASAE's president and CEO.
Associations are invited to start their own workshops or simply tell their individual stories to ASAE officials. Participants will be interviewed over the next year for a multi-media presentation and celebration at next year's ASAE conference at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, which will be held August 13 to 16.
