Dot-Com Update

¥Tsnn.com, which offers a global database of exhibitions and related services, has acquired the portal assets of TSCentral.com, its largest competitor. The tsnn.com database will absorb TSCentralÕs database of shows, users, and distribution partnerships, and TSCentral will co-market the expanded database, as well as operate its Webcasting services and its Expomation Web-based tradeshow applications.

¥TravelCLICK has added Passkey. com, Inc.Õs HotelDirect product to its network of digital media and data solutions for its global client base of hotels. The new service, which was scheduled for unveiling in June, gives hoteliers and meeting planners instantaneous shared information; accurate block pickup reporting; competitive customer relationship-building tools like an event-specific Web site generator; and automated data transfer of group reservations to hotel PMS (for qualified chains, franchises, and properties).

¥Citrus Heights, Calif.Ðbased iConvention, Inc., which develops software for the exposition industry, has launched iConvention Engine Enterprise Editionª. The software is designed to fully automate a trade showÑincluding exhibitors, booths, conference agendas, and all online contentÑfor the event website through a customizable event automation engine. Features include an interactive floor plan; a searchable exhibitors database; a virtual briefcase where attendees can store and then download itineraries, speaker lists, booths to visit and brochures; the VIEWTM (virtual interactive exhibitor wizard) system, which allows the exhibitor to self- upgrade their online exhibit; and a software-driven online exhibitor services manual. The software can be hosted by iConvention or installed directly on a customerÕs web server.

¥seeUthere.com, a Santa Clara, Calif.Ðbased event automation company, has released a new version of seeUthere Professionalª with expanded capabilities in the areas of marketing campaigns, surveying tools, and data analysis. The marketing tools allow planners to customize invitations to different groups via multiple media, or create different registration pages based on attendee roles. Newly added reports indicate response rates for each group and medium. It also allows planners to survey or poll customers; and it enables a planner to view a report detailing attendance, survey responses, and attendee profile for a series of events.

¥EventSource, the Sausalito, Calif.Ð based dot-com featuring a substantial on-line site selection database and other event planning tools, has instituted a new promotion to encourage contributions to the hotel reviews section of its Web site. For every hotel review submitted by an event planner, EventSource will donate $5 to the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Program, which provides educational and medical services for children with unmet healthcare needs
