Yesterday, two days into the war with Iraq, Six Contintents Hotels Inc., Atlanta, announced it will eliminate all cancellation penalties and change fees for customers who cancel or change their booking on or before midnight, March 26. Covered are reservations with an arrival date no later than April 3. As the war progresses and the situation at home changes, the company will adjust the policy accordingly.
The offer is valid at company-managed and owned hotels in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, but the company is encouraging all hotels within the brand to embrace the method.
Simply call the hotel to avoid cancellation penalties. Those guests who do not contact the hotel cannot take advantage of the conflict policy.
Already, the InterContinental brand, of the Six Continent Hotels brands, has eliminated meeting cancellation andfees for those events booked in the U.S. and Canada between Feb. 1 and April 30, and scheduled to take place from now through Dec. 31.
Along with the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand, Six Continents Hotels Inc. owns the Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and Staybridge Suites brands.
