Marriott upgrades to HDTV
Marriott is going big and flat — with its TVs, that is. Over the next four years, 50,000 new flat-panel, 32-inch high-definition televisions with 30-watt sound systems will be installed in the chain's full-service JW Marriott, Marriott, and Renaissance properties. To add to the big-screen fun, the sets have a connectivity panel where guests can plug in DVD players, laptops, video games, MP3 players, or camcorders. The first hotels in line to get the HDTV systems are the Cleveland Marriott Downtown at Key Center and the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront.
