Meeting Professionals International announced January 29 that another 49 meeting professionals have earned their Certificate in Meeting Management. That brings the total number of planners world wide with the CMM to 254. The designation – which was first awarded in Europe in 1995 -- is for senior-level meeting professionals and emphasizes strategic thinking and management skills.
The CMM program includes five days of intensive training, held for the current crop last August at Georgetown University, as well as a post-residency business project and an examination. The 20,000-member MPI will recognize these newest CMM recipients at its annual professional education conference – North America, February 2 through 4, in Orlando, Fla.
