NBTA to Offer SMM Tools and Training
Highlights
An August seminar and upcoming toolkit bring NBTA’s strategic meetings management know-how to the fore. The Groups and Meetings Committee of the National Business Travel Association has moved the rollout of its strategic meetings management toolkit to early 2011. The kit will include templates and other resources for each step of a strategic meetings management program: strategy, policy, communication, meeting registration, sourcing, planning, payment solutions, data reporting, and technology.
An SMM toolkit session during NBTA’s annual convention in Houston, will preview some of the templates, including one to help attendees build a business plan for an SMM and another to assist in creating an executive summary.
The panel discussion will be led by Lynda Garvey, subject matter expert–meetings, American Express Business Travel, and include members of the Groups and Meetings toolkit committee as panelists: Kari Schroeder Bigot, director of sales–central, Advantage Travel; Ellen Connolly, director of meetings and events, Cablevision; and Barbara Scofidio, editor, Corporate Meetings & Incentives, along with Lisa Palmeri, director of professional services, Cvent Inc.
It is still undecided whether the toolkit will be available to non-members.
