Less than 25 percent of company meetings are actually planned by professionals, according to the survey; 78 percent of the respondents were non-professional or occasional meeting planners who were responsible for the majority of their company’s meetings. For companies with separate meeting departments, 48 percent reported directly to the travel department, and 15 percent reported to the sales department.
Companies responding to the GetThere Corporate Benchmark survey reported that 43 percent of their employee trips are now booked online—a significant increase from the 24 percent reported for the same period last year.
GetThere provides online corporate booking technology to corporations.
