Caesars' Yaskin Dies
THE MEETING INDUSTRY lost a friend in January when John Yaskin, senior vice president of Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, died of cancer at age 48.
During his 14-year tenure at Caesars Palace, the property doubled its meeting space and nearly doubled its inventory of guest rooms and suites. Before joining Caesars Palace, Yaskin spent 13 years with Hyatt Hotel Corp.
In a written statement, Caesars Palace President Mark Juliano praised Yaskin's leadership. “John inspired everyone who worked for him and with him, creating a close-knit team of whom he was justifiably very proud.”
