Countdown Begins for Opening of New Atlantic City Giant

In Atlantic City, N.J., the opening of the first major casino project in 10 years is just five months away. Doors are set to open May 15, 2012, at Revel, the $2.5 billion beachfront resort, which boasts 1,100 guest rooms, all with views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Amenities at Revel will include 12 restaurants, two nightclubs, a 22,000-square-foot spa, a 5,500-seat theater, and significant meeting, event, and reception space. Its dedicated 70,000-square-foot event center will have both a 30,000-square-foot, column-free ballroom and a 15,000-square-foot amphitheater. In addition, a 30,000-square-foot meeting center features 20 meeting rooms and a business center. Hospitality areas include the lobby garden, high-rise suites, and a private beach, for a total of 60,000 square feet of indoor hospitality space and 90,000 square feet outdoors.

The 20-acre property, located next to Atlantic City’s Showboat Hotel and Casino, is two and a half hours south of New York City and an hour north of Philadelphia.
