“You have to be on an Oracle platform to get into the really big companies,” says Craig Barberich, CEO of San Francisco-based Bluedot Software (www.bluedot.com), whose new event management software launches June 30. Built, as you might guess, on an Oracle platform, the company's new Bluedot 3 is a face-to-face marketing product, including planning, management, and analytical tools. Barberich says his target market is companies with revenues of $500 million and higher; beta testers include Cisco Systems and Primedia (TM's parent company).

Benchmark Hospitality acquired International Conference Resorts in May, adding five properties to its 22-property management portfolio, including Scottsdale Conference Resort; Cheyenne Mountain Conference Resort, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Graylyn International Conference Center, Winston Salem, N.C.
Nth and Beyond
Nth Degree, a face-to-face marketing company in Stone Mountain, Ga., was acquired by Lake Capital, a Chicago-based investment firm, in April. The new Nth Degree Global LLC will continue to handleand meeting management, marketing services, and labor management, and is expected to grow with an infusion of new capital.
Cardinal Communications relaunched the Meetings Industry Mall in May (www.mim.com). The site includes a job board; interactive white papers on industry topics; and access to the mimlist archives among other services. The mimlist is a listserv for meeting and event planners.
