The Wisconsin Center, a $170 million, 800,000-square-foot convention center under construction in Milwaukee, has a new name as the result of a partnership between Midwest Express Airlines and the Wisconsin Center District. The facility, now known as Midwest Express Center, will receive $9.25 million from the airline over a 15-year period. The center is expected to open in July 1998.

Pueblo, CO, will join the convention market in June when it opens the new Pueblo Convention Center. The $8 million, 46,000-square-foot facility will have a 16,000-square-foot grand hall, as well as meeting rooms with videoconferencing capabilities, an exhibition area, and a banquet kitchen that can serve 1,100 persons for a sit-down meal.

Groundbreaking will take place later this year in West Palm Beach, FL, for the $48 million Palm Beach County Convention Center. It will be located on a 25-acre site opposite the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. The 300,000-square-foot facility is expected to open on New Year's Eve 1999.
