Bill Taylor, the former president and chief executive officer at the American Society of Association Executives, passed away June 8 at the age of 83.
“ASAE joins the association community as we mourn the passing of R. William Taylor, CAE, this past weekend,” said ASAE President and CEO John Graham. “Bill first served ASAE as a committed volunteer leader in numerous capacities, rising to chairman of the board in 1974. In 1976, Bill received ASAE’s highest award for volunteer service, The Key Award. Then in 1982, Bill joined the staff of ASAE and served as president and CEO until 1998. He had a lasting and profound impact on the growth of ASAE and the development of the profession of association management.
