Eight meeting-niche specialists came to a half-day educational forum in June put on by AM and its sister Primedia Business Meetings Group magazines, along with other trade press, for the New England Chapter of the Hotel Sales and Marketing Association International. About 80 hoteliers attended the program at the Omni Parker House in Boston to hear meeting professionals in various industries talk about current issues and trends in their market segments.

Trade journal editors, who started the forum with a panel discussion of some of today's hot issues, included James Shillinglaw, editor in chief, Travel Agent Magazine; Bruce Serlen, hotel editor, Business Travel News; and Betsy Bair, editorial director, the Meetings Group magazines.
