Galaxy Buys 3MC Product and Spins a New Web
A new and improved onlinecompany, ExpoExchange(tm), is the product of a recent merger between two top players in the association and trade show universe--Galaxy Information Services and Third Millennium Communications Inc. (3MC). The deal, in which Galaxy bought the ExpoExchange(tm) product from 3MC, was closed in May and essentially brings to Galaxy's plate a solid history of clients who already use ExpoExchange(tm) as the Web-based tool for their show management and e-commerce services.
ExpoExchange.com (www.expoexchange.com) will be its own company, wholly owned by Galaxy, says Becky Stanley, spokeswoman for Galaxy. It will employ about 500 people at its Atlanta headquarters and facilities in Frederick, Md., and Deerfield, Ill. The merger also gives the new ExpoExchange(tm) an instant client list of 360 trade shows--International Association for Exposition Management and Technical Association of the Pulp & Paper Industry among them.
Some features include online trade show development, housing reservation and travel services, registration services, and lead management.
