Calling all Thomas Fosters, John Shaws, Barbara Halls, and Leslie Saunders. If your association books a meeting in Toronto this year, it might win free entertainment by comedian Russell Roy. Roy is offering 12 organizations (one per month this year) free after-dinner entertainment. But there is a catch; someone in your group must have the same name as one of the 63 mayors of Toronto. So if your name is William McKenzie (the city's first mayor), or any of those names mentioned above, you're in luck.

Roy, a Toronto native who has seen the affect of the SARS scare on the meetings and tourism industry in the city, says, “I wanted to do something to help the industry in Toronto bounce back.”

Roy is especially known for his parody of a motivational speaker whose mantra is “Don't be afraid to fail.” He also does a funny bit on the unsuspecting group in which he acts out the role of an incoming company president who proposes bizarre changes.

For more information on Roy, and to find a complete list of Toronto mayors, go to www.russellroy.com. Winning organizations can make donations to The Meeting Professionals International Foundation.
