Do your attendees just amble into the general sessions, grab a seat and wait for the fun to begin? That's the case for most of the meetings I've attended. But why not pay more attention to the "walk in"? Keven Holland at The Association Blog has some great ideas to trigger attendees to the notion that this is no ordinary event they're walking into. Sound, lighting, movement—it all adds up to making an event special from the get-go, using the senses to intrigue, exhilerate, and set the stage for what's to come. It's an opportunity that's all too often wasted.
