A message from the Alliance for CME:
The Council of Medical Specialty Societies is pleased to extend an invitation to you to attend the Repositioning CME Summit: Commitment, Communication and Collaboration. The full-day conference will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2005, at the Westin O'Hare, 6100 River Road, Rosemont, Illinois.
The Summit is the second conference offered in collaboration with the Conjoint Committee on CME (CCCME) as efforts continue toward reforming and repositioning Continuing Medical Education. The focus of this
Summit will be implementing fundamental change with particular emphases on Self-Assessment (both physicians and CME professionals), Curriculum Design and Development, and Linking CME with Practice Performance and Quality Improvement. A full agenda is planned with recognized speakers, who will share their knowledge and expertise, along with a panel discussion and interactive sessions in the morning and afternoon.
The Conjoint Committee on CME, a multi-organizational group, formed in October 2002, conducted a thorough study and multivariate analysis of the current CME system, and proceeded to address major challenges and opportunities facing the CME system. The purpose of the CME Summit is to afford CEOs and CME professionals the opportunity to learn from and share with colleagues issues, concerns and emerging implementation in response to the Report and Recommendation and Next Steps of the CCCME. The relationships of the Recommendations and Next Steps to Maintenance of Certification (MOC) requirements will be shared.

Please note that while this meeting is sponsored by the CMSS, individuals from all CME venues are welcome to attend. If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact the Office of
