In November 2010, The Fairmont Royal Pavilion is scheduled to reopen on Barbados after a two-month renovation starting on September 1. Set on 11 acres, the colonial-style resort will debut a new category of rooms: 24 750-square-foot Beachfront Junior Suites with private terraces. The resort also has 48 existing Oceanfront Deluxe guest rooms.
The architecture and interior design of the new suites is inspired by a typical Barbadian plantation house, with soft hues complementing the rich walnut tones of the furnishings. All will feature complimentary Wi-Fi, 42-inch flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, and a media panel with a DVD/CD player and MP3 docks. Guests booking a junior suite will enjoy an airport fast track service, with a personal escort through the diplomatic area in immigration and customs, as well as personalized check in and checkout. Also complimentary with the junior suites are dedicated butler service and evening canapés.
The Royal Pavilion’s conference and event facilities range from small, traditional meeting rooms to pool and beachside locations and private dining rooms.
A wide range of water sports is offered, including snorkeling, wakeboarding, water-skiing, Hobie Cat and Sunfish sailing, and kayaking.
