Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. has appointed David Marr as regional vice president of sales and marketing, New York City. Marr joins Starwood from Marriott International, where he was the market director of business strategy for the company's New York City hotels and the director of marketing and sales for the Marriott Marquis in New York.
Benchmark Hospitality has appointed Wanda Nickolai director of conference services for The Chattanoogan, a new $43 million conference center that is scheduled to open in April in Chattanooga, Tenn. Nickolai most recently served as director of convention services at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center in Utah.
At Millennium Hotels and Resorts, Richard Keating has been named vice president, marketing for Millennium's two New York hotels, the Millennium Broadway and the Regal U.N. Plaza. He most recently was director of sales and marketing at the Essex House, New York.
Beth Calveard has been named marketing manager for the Opryland Hospitality Group, Nashville. She was previously director of sales and marketing at the Doubletree Guest Suites in Nashville.
Mark Lauer has been named director of marketing and sales for The Waldorf-Astoria and The Waldorf Towers in New York. He was most recently general manager of the Doubletree in Omaha, Neb.
Shari M. Fisher has been appointed sales manager of Hotel Monteleone in the French Quarter of New Orleans. She previously held the same title at the Meridian Hotel, New Orleans.
Karen Sullivan has been named associate director of sales at the Hyatt Regency San Diego. Sullivan has worked as area director of sales and marketing in Las Vegas for Marriott Hotels, Resorts, and Suites.
Ray Gonzalez has been named director of event management and services for the Pasadena (CA) Conference Center. Before joining the center, Gonzalez was director ofdevelopment for the Association of Woodworking and Furnishings Suppliers.
At the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel in Dana Point, Calif., Michelle Caporicci has been named director of conference services. Caporicci has worked in conference services at Ritz-Carlton since 1998.
At the Orchid at Mauna Lani on the Island of Hawaii, Jay Rubenstein has been appointed sales manager. He was most recently account director, group sales, for Sheraton Maui.
Adam Robert Harms, most recently sales manager at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows, Kohala Coast, Hawaii, has joined the sales and marketing team at Keauhou Beach Resort in Kona, Hawaii.
Joan Palmtag has been named director of sales for the Big Island's Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows. She was most recently associate director of sales at the Maui Prince Hotel.
Xavier Lablaude has been named director of sales and marketing at Orient-Express Hotels' Hôtel de la Cité in France. Lablaude comes from Hawks Cay Resort in the Florida Keys. Hôtel de la Cité is located in the foothills of the Pyrenees, in the fortified medieval city of Carcassonne, and is listed by the French National Conservation Trust.
At The Radisson Cable Beach Resort, Nassau, The Bahamas, Michelle Skolnick has been appointed director of group and incentive sales. She has been senior sales manager for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.

The Lodge at Sonoma — A Renaissance Hotel & Spa, Sonoma, Calif., opened in January. The new, 182-room resort property features an early California-style lodge as well as cottages and a spa. The resort has nearly 22,000 square feet of meeting space. www.marriott.com

Hawk's Cay Resort, Duck Key, Fla., recently opened its Overseas Conference Center, a state-of-the-art, 15,000-square-foot meeting facility that complements the existing 10,000-square-foot Dolphin Conference Center, which was recently renovated. The Gatwick Center, a stand-alone airport conference and business center, has opened at London's Gatwick Airport. The 8,000-square-foot facility offers 18 meeting rooms and a “touchdown” area for use between meetings or flights.
