What's your favorite ice cream? Pralines and cream on a gigantic waffle cone is my guilty pleasure, because it reminds me of the decadence and overindulgence of “The City that Time Forgot.”
Do you doodle in the margins? I love to circle any clever turn of phrase, or any sentence that is particularly evocative or literate — or stupid.
What's spinning in your CD player? I've about worn out my “Down from the Mountain” CD, which includes dazzling performances by virtually every living legend of blues.
What lunchbox did you carry to school? I always grabbed my Roy Rogers and Trigger lunchbox before I galloped onto the school bus.
If you could lead the life of a movie character, who would it be and why? Any quirky character in any Coen Brothers movie would be fun — but particularly the dapper, silver-tongued Ulysses Everett McGill (George Clooney) in “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” as he made his madcap journey through Depression-era Mississippi after escaping from a chain gang.
Tom Bolman, CAE, joined the International Association of Conference Centers in 1987. Bolman plans, organizes, and directs the staff, programs, budget, and activities of both IACC-North America and the global organization. Before that, Bolman spent 10 years as director of marketing for Stouffer Hotels Corp. for several properties in Ohio and Missouri.
