Kelly Commerford has been appointed director of marketing at Oak Ridge Conference Center, a Dolce Conference Destination, Chaska, Minn. He was most recently a director of sales and marketing and staff support for Benchmark Hospitality. Oak Ridge Conference Center is 25 miles from Minneapolis International Airport.
Benchmark Hospitality has appointed Todd Gillespie director of sales and marketing for Glade Springs Resort in Daniels, W.Va. Previously, Gillespie was national sales manager at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.
Christopher O'Donnell has joined Palmetto Dunes Resort on Hilton Head Island, S.C., as senior sales manager. His territory will include North Carolina, Georgia, and parts of the Northeast. O'Donnell was previously national sales manager for Daufuskie Island Resort in South Carolina.
At Wyndham Miami Airport, Pete Demay was named director of sales. Demay had been director of sales and marketing at the Hilton Palm Beach Oceanfront Resort in Palm Beach, Fla.
At Boca Raton Resort & Club, Christine Tascione has been named associate director of sales. She will be in charge of incentive accounts. Tascione most recently served three years as director of sales at Sheraton Boston.
At Hawk's Cay Resort in Duck Key, Fla., Kelli Schneider is the new conference services director and Hasan Ali has been appointed food and beverage director. Schneider was most recently conference services manager and meetings express manager at Marcus Grand Geneva Resort and Spa in Lake Geneva, Wis. Ali comes to the resort from Frenchman's Reef and Morning Star Beach Resort in St. Tomas, U.S.V.I., where he also held the position of F&B director.

The 700-room The Westin Charlotte, Charlotte, N.C., set to open this fall, sits across from the Charlotte Convention Center and will be the center's official hotel. The Westin will have more than 44,000 square feet of convention facilities, including 32,135 square feet of meeting space. Crowne Plaza Chicago North Shore, Mundelein, Ill., has opened on the site of the former Holiday Inn Mundelein. A total renovation of the 183-room property included concierge services, a staffed business center, fitness room, and indoor pool, as well as a new, upscale restaurant. Cordless telephones, separate data lines, and fully automated privacy systems are some of the in-room upgrades. Dolce International will manage Aspen Meadows Resort and Conference Center, Aspen, Colo. The 40-acre resort is a full-service, year-round conference destination and home to the Aspen Institute. March 6 marked the completion of a $27 million propertywide renovation of the Renaissance Ilikai Waikiki Hotel, Honolulu, Hawaii. The remodel included a complete refurbishment of all 783 guest rooms and meeting space, the latter of which includes 23 meeting rooms that total more than 25,000 square feet of function space. The 377-room Adam's Mark Hotel in Mobile, Ala, has completed a $5 million refurbishment. The makeover upgraded all guest rooms and added wireless Internet access via new 25-inch guest room televisions. The refurbishment complements the $7 million renovation of the meeting rooms, which encompass 32,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space, including a 10,000-square-foot grand ballroom and 12 hospitality suites. www.adamsmark.com
The Otesaga, Cooperstown, N.Y., which overlooks Lake Otesaga, completed a $34 million renovation. Refurbishments included upgrades to the guest rooms and meeting facilities, as well as to the championship 18-hole Leatherstocking Golf Course. With more than 13,000 square feet of meeting space, the 136-room hotel can accommodate 300 people banquet-style in the 2,625-square-foot main dining room. Westward Look Resort, Tucson, Ariz., has expanded with a new 4,500-square-foot ballroom and rooftop terrace offering panoramic views of the Sonoran Desert.
