In late 2009, the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel—Colorado’s largest hotel—completed a $70 million renovation. Sheraton Denver’s extensive renovation is part of a $6 billion brandwide global revitalization effort, which includes upgrading 100 hotels in the U.S., renovating 50,000 guest rooms, and redesigning more than 100 lobbies. Located on the 16th Street Mall, just blocks from the recently expanded Colorado Convention Center, the Sheraton Denver offers 1,231 guest rooms and suites and 133,000 square feet of meeting space.

A key component in the renovation is a lobby redesign featuring the brand’s signature hotel offering, “Link@Sheraton experienced with Microsoft,” which enables guests to stay connected using Windows-based computers that feature Microsoft Office; Bing, Microsoft’s new decision engine; Bing Maps; and Microsoft LifeCam webcams for e-mailing video postcards. Also in the lobby is a communal table to allow several groups of guests to work independently of one another within the same space, while game tables and oversized chairs encourage playful interaction or rest and relaxation. Each guest room features a 37-inch LCD flat-panel television, oversized work desks, and comfortable seating.
