At the Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau, Ann Wubbena has been named director, Northeast region sales. She will be responsible for sales in New England and New York state. Previously, Wubbena was director of sales for the Puerto Rico Convention Bureau.
Frank Passante has been named vice president, sales and, for Hilton Hotels Corp.'s University Hotel & Conference Center division, a collection of 20 dedicated conference and campus-based hotels. Most recently, Passante was regional director of sales and marketing for the Hilton Washington and the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C. Passante's office will remain in the D.C. area.
Mark Swetman has joined the Hilton Short Hills (N.J.) as director of sales and marketing. Swetman was previously director of sales for the executive conference center at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers in New York City.
Helene Cage has been promoted to sales manager at The Homestead, in Hot Springs, Va. She will be returning to Virginia after a stint as Northeast regional sales manager.
Suzie Murley has been promoted to director of conference services for the Monarch hotel in Washington, D.C.'s, West End. Murley joined the Monarch staff as conference services manager in 1999.
Mike Kennedy has been appointed director of sales and marketing for The Founders Inn in Virginia Beach, Va. Kennedy was previously director of sales at Princeton, N.J.'s, Doral Forrestal, formerly the Forrestal Hotel and Conference Center, at the time a Benchmark property.
Todd Frappier has been appointed director of sales and marketing at The Rosen Centre, adjacent to the Orange County Convention Center. Before joining the Rosen Center, Frappier was director of sales and marketing at the Rosen Plaza, also in Orlando, for eight years.
John Klingle has been appointed director of sales and marketing for the Millennium Hotel, Minneapolis. Klingle had been with Prime Hospitality Corp., based in East Fairfield, N.J., where he was regional vice president of sales and marketing.
Angie Gadwood has joined the Radisson Hotel Dallas North at Richardson (Texas) as director of sales. She was most recently regional director of sales and marketing and corporate sales trainer for Sunburst Hospitality Corp., based in Silver Spring, Md.
At Benchmark Hospitality, based in The Woodlands, Texas, Jim Bullock has been named corporate director of sales. He most recently was corporate marketing director, national marketing, at International Conference Resorts, which was recently purchased by Benchmark.
Joni Simpkins has been named director of sales and marketing for The Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites in Los Angeles, where she will oversee a staff of 40. Simpkins comes to hotel from the Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort, in Dana Point, Calif., where she was director of hotel sales.
Robert L. Wentworth is the newly appointed director of sales and marketing for the new Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa in Huntington Beach, Calif. The hotel is scheduled to open in October 2002. Wentworth comes to the hotel from the Hyatt Regency Long Beach, in Long Beach, Calif., where he was director of sales and marketing.
At Renaissance Ilikai Waikiki Hotel in Honolulu, Susan Weander has been appointed director of group sales, and Erica Condon has been named group sales manager, responsible for the corporate market. Weander was most recently director of travel industry sales at Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites in Los Angeles. Condon was formerly an account executive at the Kahala Mandarin Oriental in Honolulu.
At The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club, Karen Bell has been appointed assistant director of sales. She will be responsible for managing all corporate and incentive accounts. Bell formerly served as senior sales manager for the hotel.
Brenda Square has been named account executive in the convention sales department at the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau. Square joins the SACVB from SBC Communications Inc., where she was director of event marketing.
