Larry Alexander is the new president and CEO of the Metropolitan Detroit Convention & Visitors Bureau. Formerly managing director of the Westin Hotel in Detroit, Alexander succeeds Rick Binford, who resigned in October.

JoAnn Kurtz-Ahlers has been promoted to vice president, sales and business development for the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East, at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. She also has responsibility for catering/conference services, group sales, and the U.S. and European International sales offices. Kurtz-Ahlers joined Ritz-Carlton in 1987 and was named corporate director of sales in 1992.

Ruby Serra recently was promoted to meetings & incentive travel manager for the Singapore Tourism Board. She will be based in the board's Chicago office.

Denise Lodrige, managing director of the Washington, D.C., Worldwide Sales Office for Hilton Hotels Corporation, recently assumed the additional responsibility of overseeing the chain's Atlanta and Florida Worldwide Sales Offices.

Lisa Molony has been named director of national accounts for PGI, the Arlington, Va.-based events and communications agency. She had been overseeing PGI's Florida operations in Miami, Orlando, and Palm Beach. Now based in Atlanta, she will handle major national PGI accounts, concentrating on the insurance industry.

Randall K. Miller has been appointed vice president of national sales, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, responsible for group, leisure, and corporate travel sales. A 17-year hospitality industry veteran, Miller joined Wyndham in 1998 as vice president of resort sales.

Philip Dickinson has been named director of sales for the Furnace Creek Inn & Ranch in Death Valley, Calif. Dickinson had been regional vice president for HRM Marketing.

Grace Taylor Segal has been named director of national accounts at Marriott's Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, Calif., handling the insurance, incentive, and Northeast markets. She had been sales manager at La Quinta Resort & Spa in La Quinta, Calif., and, before that, at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort in Indian Wells, Calif.

Mary Rispoli has been named director of sales at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. She joins from the Sheraton Washington (D.C.), where she was director of sales and marketing.

Allison Frohmann-Bolanovich has been named director, incentive sales, for Walt Disney World Resort. She had been a director of marketing with Starwood Lodging Corporation in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. In her new role, Frohmann-Bolanovich is responsible for sales for Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and for incentive group business for Disney Cruise Line.

Catherine A. Cumings has been named director of sales and marketing at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. Most recently, Cumings served as director of marketing at the Westin Fairfax in Washington, D.C.

Lauren Kelley has joined the Westin Savannah (Ga.) Harbor Resort in its pre-opening sales office as sales manager. Kelley spent the previous two years as sales manager at the Hyatt Regency Hilton Head Resort on Hilton Head Island, S.C.

Peter Faraone is leading KSL Recreation Corporation's new seven-person national sales force. He joined KSL earlier this year from The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. KSL is owner and operator of premier golf facilities in the country, including La Quinta Resort & Club and PGA West near Palm Springs, Calif.; Doral Golf Resort and Spa in Miami; and Grand Traverse Resort in Michigan.

Norma Dean, national accounts manager, Delta Air Lines, has recently taken on responsibility for the insurance meetings market, in addition to her responsibility for the association market. Dean, who is based in Atlanta, has been with Delta for more than 13 years.

Mark Leiss has been named regional vice president, sales and marketing for PGI, the events and communications agency. Leiss, who is based in New York, will handle corporate clients in New York and New England. He had been vice president and group account director at Caribiner International.
