William Gilchrist has been named corporate director of sales for North America at Dolce International, based in Montvale, N.J. He was previously director of marketing at Oak Brook (Ill.) Hills. Gilchrist was elected last year to Meeting Professionals International's board of directors.
Kevin Kelley was named area director of sales for Wyndham International, responsible for resorts in the western region, including those in Arizona, Colorado, California, and Mexico. Kelley, who had been director of sales and marketing at Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club in Durham, N.C., will be based at The Boulders, Carefree, Ariz.
Tom Fahey recently retired as director of conference services for the Life Insurance Marketing Research Association International in Windsor, Conn., after 45 years with the organization. He will continue to serve as a consultant to LIMRA. Meanwhile, Barbara Kielb has been promoted to fill Fahey's position. She had been LIMRA's manager of conference services.
Anita Roye has joined MetLife in New York as associate director of conference planning and event services. She had been senior meeting and travel planner at New England Financial in Boston.
Lance Wieland, CMP, recently formed Global Events Group, a full-service meeting, incentive, and special events company. He had been the director of meeting services for Unum Corp. in Portland, Maine. Wieland is now based in Falmouth, Maine.
Bill Wulff, CMP, has joined Above the Rim Events as president and CEO. The full-service meeting, incentive, and special events company is based in Fort Lee, N.J. Wulff had been director of event services at MetLife in New York.
Patricia A. Langfeld has been appointed to the newly created position of vice president, marketing and development, for The Competitive Telecommunications Association (CompTel), based in Washington, D.C. Langfeld was director of meetings and exhibits for the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (formerly the National Association of Life Underwriters).
Ty Helms has been named vice president of sales for Hyatt Hotels Corp. He had been Hyatt's vice president, international sales. Helms is based at the company's Chicago headquarters office.
Denise Lodrige was appointed vice president, national sales, for Hilton Hotels. She had been managing director for the worldwide sales office in Chicago, where she will continue to be based. Also at Hilton, Keith Hymel was promoted to vice president, sales strategy and technology, from managing director, business organizational development. Based in Dallas, Hymel will work on enhancing planner services at Hilton's Web site and will oversee other technology initiatives. Finally, Hilton has named David Keys regional vice president, sales and marketing, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Keys had been director of sales and marketing at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York.
David Dvorak was named vice president of convention and meeting services for Starwood Hotels & Resorts. In this newly created position, Dvorak will develop and monitor convention services standards in Starwood's major meeting hotels. Dvorak, who will be based in White Plains, N.Y., had been executive director of convention services for Bally's and Paris hotels and casinos in Las Vegas.
Kevin Rosa recently was named associate director of sales for The Cloister at Sea Island in Sea Island, Ga. In this newly created position, he will be responsible for corporate and incentive sales. Rosa had been account executive for the Maritz Business Group Travel division and, before that, national sales manager for The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, W.V.
Hal Powell has been appointed director of sales and marketing for Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, Va. Powell had been resident manager and director of marketing for The Sagamore on Lake George in Bolton Landing, N.Y.
Frank Couzo was named director of sales and marketing at the Radisson Hotel Universal Orlando. Couzo will continue as area director of sales and marketing for MeriStar Hotels' properties in Florida's Orlando/Cocoa Beach area.
