* The American Hotel & Motel Association awarded the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale its Enviro-Management Award/ Individual Property. As part of the hotel's environmental program, soda bottles are recycled into restaurant glassware and grass clippings are used for compost. The resort also participates in a community project to preserve the McDowell Mountains and the Sonoran Desert.

* Wyndham Hotels & Resorts recently expanded with the addition of a new brand, the Wyndham Grand Heritage properties. Nine historic hotels have been reflagged with the Wyndham name: The Tremont Hotel in Boston; The Tremont House and Hotel Galvez on Galveston Island, Texas; The Fairmount Hotel in San Antonio, Texas; The Mayfair in St. Louis; The Tutwiler in Birmingham, Ala.; Union Station in Nashville, Tenn.; The Ambassador West in Chicago; and Bourbon Orleans Hotel in New Orleans. Wyndham's Grand Heritage properties are undergoing renovations to upgrade facilities and services, including a $13 million face-lift for Hotel Galvez and a $10 million one for The Ambassador West. * The Westin O'Hare in Rosemont, Ill., now offers the Office on Wheels--a portable workstation with a computer, printer, fax, and telephone. Meeting planners can request that the "office" be wheeled into a meeting room, so they can keep their eyes on things even when they have to send a last-minute fax or take a phone call. The 525-room Westin O'Hare has 50,000 square feet of meeting space.

* Sol Melia Hotels in Costa Rica recently signed an agreement with the Costa Rica Ministry of Natural Resources to provide donations from hotel guests that will be used to improve the Tempisque Conservation Area in the Guanacaste province. The "Be a Good Neighbor Program" includes all six Sol Melia Costa Rica hotels: Donations of one dollar per room, per stay, will automatically be added to each guest's account, but credited back for those not wanting to participate. The company's goal is to collect $250,000 during the first year.

* Fortune Hotels will drop its Radisson affiliation to continue the growth of its TradeWinds brand. Leading the way, in August the Radisson Sandpiper Beach Resort on St. Pete Beach, Fla., became the TradeWinds Sandpiper Beach Resort.

* Marriott International, Inc., has converted the Parc 55 Hotel in San Francisco to a Renaissance hotel--Marriott's 1,500th hotel worldwide. The 1,004-room Renaissance Parc 55 Hotel, which caters to meetings and business travelers, will operate as a franchise, owned and managed by Park Lane Hotels International.

Noted * McGettigan Partners has joined with The Smithsonian Associates in Washington, D.C., to offer the Creativity Institute and the World Affairs Institute, the latest in McGettigan's series of corporate enrichment programs. Both institutes are held at the Smithsonian in Washington and can be customized to a client's needs. The World Affairs programs involve guest speakers and special events that highlight the political and socioeconomic situations of particular countries or regions. The creativity program focuses on new approaches to problem-solving and new exercises to encourage creative and innovative thinking. McGettigan also announced earlier this year that it has acquired World Class Incentives, a full-service incentive management firm founded in Swampscott, Mass., in 1987. The new company, McGettigan World Class, will operate with its existing staff, increasing McGettigan's presence in the incentives field. McGettigan now has 350 employees serving 100 clients and generating sales of about $250 million.
