The Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers has appointed Mark D. Tunney director of sales and marketing. Before joining the Sheraton Chicago, Tunney was vice president of sales for SeminarSource.com, headquartered in San Diego, Calif.

Mark Frisone has been named national account executive in the Marriott National Accounts office in Westport, Conn. He will handle the Northeast corporate market, including insurance and financial services accounts. He had been senior sales manager at Westfields Marriott Conference Center in Washington, D.C.

J.J. Gubbins has been named the first CEO in the 25-year history of Euromic, a consortium of destination management companies in 27 countries in Europe and the Mediterranean region. Gubbins had spent 25 years with ITT Sheraton, now a division of Starwood, where he was a corporate vice president and director of global incentive sales. He will be headquartered in Chicago.

Michael Valentino has been named national sales manager, responsible for the Northeast region, at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa in Phoenix. Valentino was formerly director of Northeast sales at the Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, Ariz. Also at the Biltmore, Charlotte Steele has been named director of Biltmore Destination Services, the in-house destination management division. Formerly, Steele was operations director for Mountain River Adventures in Kernville, Calif.

Daniel J. Rush was promoted to the newly created position of director of incentive sales at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. He has been with MGM Grand for three years, most recently as director of leisure sales.

Andre Fournier has been named director of sales and marketing at The Pointe South Mountain Resort in Phoenix, and Dan Sierka has been appointed director of group sales. Fournier returns to Arizona from a post as director of marketing for Vail Cascade in Colorado. Most recently, Sierka was the associate director of sales at The Boulders Resort in Carefree, Ariz.

Steven Boswell has been promoted to director of sales and Deborah Donaghey has been appointed national sales manager, responsible for California and Texas, at the Loews Santa Monica (Calif.) Hotel. Donaghey had been cluster director of sales and marketing for Marriott Hotels & Resorts in Rochester, N.Y. Before coming to Loews, Boswell held management positions with Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

Dieter F. Schneider has been named director of destination services at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, in Dana Point, Calif. Schneider joins The Ritz-Carlton from PRA Destination Management Inc., where he directed the operations of the Orange County and Los Angeles offices.

Michael Schultz has been hired as director of operations at Concepts Worldwide, an international meeting and event planning company headquartered in San Diego. Schultz was previously director of event services at the Wyndham Anatole Hotel in Dallas.

Marc Schechter was named CEO of MeetingXpress.com, Southfield, Mich., a new Web-based provider of meeting planning services. Schechter was most recently CEO of Star Trax Corporate Events, of which MeetingXpress.com is a spin-off, and will continue to serve on its board of directors.

Doug Collins has been named regional director of sales and marketing for Starwood, overseeing hotels in Washington, Oregon, Northern California, Colorado, and Canada. He had been director of sales and marketing at the Sheraton Seattle, where he will continue to be based.

Justin Wood has been named golf and insurance sales manager at Our Lucaya on Grand Bahama Island. He had been golf sales manager at Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Miami.

At the Elliott Hotel, scheduled to open in the spring in Seattle as a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, Jodi Forslund has been named senior director of sales. Previously, Forslund had been with the Sheraton Seattle as director of corporate sales.
